The fall sports season is winding down. With many of the sports heading to the end of their respective seasons, many players are giving it their all to end the season strong. One sport enters the list for the first time while another continues to dominate the list.
Natalie Fortna – Women’s Soccer
With the two-goal performance, Fortna doubled her season total to four goals in her sophomore season. Fortna looks to pace the offense when the Yellow Jackets host Saint Vincent Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Ta’Vaughn Johnson – Football
While the football team was dominated in every way in a 40-7 loss to nationally ranked Thomas More, there was a highlight for the Jackets.
Freshman Ta’Vaughn Johnson made the most explosive play of the day by taking a kick 97 yards to the house for Waynesburg’s lone score.
Johnson also caught four passes for 58 yards on the day. The performance earned Johnson the PAC rookie of the week award. Additionally, HeroSports.com made Johnson a candidate for their Hero of the Week award. To vote, click here.
