Sideny Crosby is a milestone machine. He just completed another one last night, hitting 1,000 NHL assists. He also hit 1,591 points, good for 10th place all-time in a 6-5 overtime win over the Red Wings. Crosby finished with a goal and two assists in the victory, with his second apple coming on Erik Karlsson’s game winning goal.
While it was big night for Crosby it also kept the Penguins in the playoff race. They moved into the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. However, that spot isn’t super safe as they hold just a one-point lead over Washington, Detroit and Philidelphia. Thought they have played a game less than the Flyers, which could be a difference maker toward clinching that wild card spot.
With just eight days left till the playoffs start it should be an exciting finish to the season. Can Crosby keep finishing milestones and get his team to the playoffs? Stay Tuned!
