Patrick Dombrowski is the number two seed with his only loss in bracket play coming against Booker. Jason Belmonte, Sam Cooley and Richie Teece also made the stepladder finals.

Tackett cam up just short finishing sixth, as he missed out on making the stepladder for the sixth consecutive time.

Skene Spectacular in Triple-A Debut

S. Samek

Paul Skenes made the jump to Triple-A look easy in his first start of the season. Skenes went three scoreless innings allowing no hit or walks and striking out five. He received a no-decision, however the Louisville Bats bested Indianapolis 4-3. Though if Skenes keeps pitching like that, he should be up in Pittsburgh soon.

Omaha Supernovas are currently in second place in the league, while also having the best attendance mark in the federation. Making the choice to Omaha a no brainer.

If you can’t make it to Omaha, you can watch it on CBS Sports.

Skenes Set for Triple-A Debut

S. Samek

Paul Skenes will start the season at Triple-A Indianapolis. He is then scheduled to make his pitching debut at the level on Saturday March 30,2024 against the Louisville Bats.

He is the highest rated Pirates prospect on the team and should be looked to as the ace of the staff until he gets called up at some point this year. Hopefully for good. Yet for the time being it’s exciting to see him get his first Triple-A start to see if he can build on a strong spring training.
