S. Samek

The field of 16 at the PBA World Championship has been cut down to the final nine for an extended stepladder finals. While most PBA events feature a five-person stepladder this is unique in that it features nearly double the usual field.

The first stepladder with seeds 5-9 includes, Michael Martel,Packy Hanrahan, Kyle Sherman, Eric Jones and Justin Knowles.

Matt Russo, Jesper Svensson, Graham Fach and EJ Tackett will be the second stepladder finishing in seeds 1-4. That stepladder will take place on Sunday April 21, 2024, and include the winner of Saturday’s. stepladder.

Russo is the top seed for the event after having a great World Series, that also saw him win a title at the Scorpion Championships. He should be an early favorite to win this major title. Tackett won the Shark Championship just a couple days ago and is always a threat to win anytime he makes the show. Cheetah Championship winner Deo Bernard didn’t make the show finishing in 14th place.

Roth/Holman Doubles champions for 2024, Andrew Anderson and Kris Prather also missed the show, though neither of them made the cut to the top 16 for this event. However, the field is still stacked and should be a great event. Who will come out on top in the last event of the 2024 World Series of Bowling?
