Wiffleball action is coming to the Steal City! Once again Pittsburgh will host the Steel City Showdown the last of Mid Atlantic Wiffle’s open tournaments.
The event will be held on August 17th, 2024, at Greentree Park. It’s going to be the last tournament before the playoffs.
Excited to see some good wiffleball coming to the Pittsburgh area.

The 2024 LCS Spring finals were held this past weekend. Three teams were still in the running and that number has been reduced to one and a champion has been crowned.
The weekend started with the loser’s bracket finals between Cloud9 and Team Liquid. Liquid made quick work of Cloud9 sweeping them 3-0 to win the losers bracket and advance to the championship.
There they would meet top seed and winner bracket winner FlyQuest, the same team that knocked them into the loser’s bracket.
Liquid would get their revenge winning the series three games to one. This gives them their first title 2019 summer playoffs, not counting their LCS Lock-In titles in 2021 and 2022.
Team Liquid will make it to the MSI bracket stage as a result of their title. FlyQuest also will receive a spot at MSI, but in the play-in.
The remaining teams will need to wait until the start of the summer split.

March Madness is upon us. With that we have the start of conference championship tournaments. Taking a look at them we start with ACC conference action. What can we expect from the tournament this week?
North Carolina is the number one seed for the tournament. They enter the tournament coming off a big win over ninth ranked Duke on Saturday. The earned a double- bye to the quarterfinals, as did Duke, Virginia and Pitt.
Five teams got single byes and await the winners of three first round games.
The tournament starts tomorrow and runs until Saturday March 16th, 2024.

The NBA has announced the addition of the In-Season Tournament for the 2023-2024 season. It starts November 3rd and ends December 9th. All 30 teams will play in it. Each of them was drawn into a group for group stage games with the top eight teams making it to the knockout stage.
I think it’s an interesting idea and I can’t wait to see how it goes. Might help give more meaning to regular season games as tournament games instead of just regular games.
